August again

Here we are in August again.    This must be my reflective time of year.  I slow down,  and review the previous year as we gear up for another school year to begin.   I can not believe I have been homeschooling for 7 years!  This year I will be going full force with 2 kiddo's homeschooling.   Rigdon is beginning 6th for most subjects, but 8th in history.   Sydnee is beginning kindergarten.

I am very stressed about it this year.   I had total knee replacement surgery on my right knee 7/6.   I am nowhere near where I thought I'd be.   I can barely walk.  My knee swells with small tasks, such as making lunch, putting away groceries, or picking up a few papers and books off of the homeschool room table.    How will I ever sit at a desk and teach?    I was told I'd be recovered in 4 weeks.   My surgeon lied!!!!   This will be a year long recovery, if not longer.   Another TKR patient said "This is as close to a transplant as you can get."  I am 5 weeks post-op, and not at all where we expected my recovery process to be.  I will probably miss trick or treating with the kids this year.  Going to the pumpkin patch is out.  I will miss all of Rigdon's soccer games.   This is his first year on travel team, so it breaks my heart!   The worst one is our 15 year wedding anniversary is next month, but I probably won't be able to leave the house.

I wish I had an updated photo of the kids to post here.   Unfortunately my knee has been bothering me for several months prior to the surgery.   I haven't done many photo shoots recently.   I'm going to need some creative techniques this year, to create a holiday photo too.

I sound very whiny.   I hope by this time next year, I will reflect once again, and realize how far I've come.   I hope this recovery will be a thing of the past, and I'll be myself again.   Here's to HOPE!  ðŸ¥‚

A Day to Enjoy

Here we are, headed into another school year.   I can't believe this is my fifth year of
homeschooling.   Where has the time gone?  I feel more relaxed, and comfortable with our  style as each year goes by.   I am learning to put blinders on myself, and walk away from the beautiful, enticing package deals, and buy an eclectic assortment for my son, and his needs.  This has been difficult for me, because I love a pretty package.   Each year, I become more independent, and less like the old brick and mortar school system.

I'm blessed to have free time with my children every day.   I get to see them grow and change.  I am lucky to witness every detail of their lives.   On Monday, I was honored to share time with them, and my camera.   I haven't done much photography in several years.   I've recently picked up my old hobby, and I enjoying sharing these moments with them.

Lord, you are my God!
You have promised many good things to me.

Annual Posts??

My goodness!!!   I just let a year slip by with out posting a single thing.    Let's get up to date....

1) Sydnee is 15 months old now, and cruising around the house at high speeds.   Well, let's be honest, high speeds for her, and just right for momma to still be able to keep up!

2) Rigdon and I are preparing for another year of homeschooling.   Yes, my desk is COVERED in teachers manuals, and this year I have 2 agenda notebooks for "planning".    One to actually write my "plan" in, and one that we actually "accomplish".

3)  I am planning my very first girls trip.    Since I stay home with the kids, I'm feeling a bit of burn out.   My temper was reflecting my over exhausted feelings.  I am looking forward to a get away.   Right now the plans are for Frankenmuth in Sept....   More on that later!

4)  I will not be watching as many kids this year.   I am hoping to take Rigdon and Sydnee out to more museums, and such while homeschooling.

Here are some updated pics...

5)  Homeschool topics, and pictures will be here soon!!!

Baby Sydnee

Baby Sydnee Raycen has arrived. She was born May 10th. She weighed in at 6 lbs 2 oz and 18.5 inches long. She had a rough first week, dealing with fluid in her lungs, glucose problems, and jaundice, but she is doing much better now. She is so beautiful, and we are in love with her.

Baby is almost here!

Well, here we are in May already!   My baby is still inside, but she's ready to come join the world!   We've had a few scare issues, and I'm feeling very blessed that she's healthy and safe.   I am going to be induced between 38-39 weeks, which is only a week and a half to a couple of weeks away.   We are very excited to meet our new addition!!!

We still do not have a name for this bundle of JOY!   (maybe that should be her name!).    I had a name picked out, but then a friend gave me some suggestions as a joke, but I fell in love with one of them.   I can't get it out of my mind, and I keep thinking I MUST use it, but then again, it's very hillbilly!!  But so am I, so why not???  hahaha!

I've added a couple of photos to share so everyone can see the beauty of our little miracle girl.

New Job, and New Baby!!!

It's been a year and ten months since Mike was laid off from Nationwide Insurance, and a year and four months since he began working for Cardinal Health through a contractor..Unicon.    Today is the last day he will be with them.   He got a new job that will change our lives!!!

We have suffered with out any insurance for 4 months, and then minimal coverage through the contract agency Unicon, for a year and 4 months.   His new job will provide us with insurance to help pay for the miracle baby that's on the way.   We have been blessed with this news!!!   Mike feels like a man again because he can provide for his family, and we are amazed at Gods work in our lives right now.

Mike begins his new job on Jan 16th, and I couldn't be more proud of him.   I am overwhelmed by our blessings right now, and can't even express how grateful I am!!!!!!
